West Seattle students get some of the most varied training terrain in the city, and Seattle One instructors know every mile of it. We offer student pick-up across the peninsula — Admiral, Alki, the Junction, Fauntleroy, and Delridge — so parents don't have to shuttle teens to lessons.
How We Train in West Seattle
Early lessons use the flat, predictable streets around Alki Point and the quiet grids off California Ave SW. As skills grow, students handle the busy California/Alaska Junction, the Fauntleroy Way ferry-queue zone, steep east-slope hills like Admiral Way, and finally the West Seattle Bridge and Delridge corridors for freeway-speed merging onto SR-99 and I-5. That progression — calm flats to bridge traffic — is exactly why West Seattle turns out confident drivers.

West Seattle Questions

Yes. Pick-up and drop-off are available throughout West Seattle — Admiral, Alki, the Junction, Fauntleroy, High Point, and Delridge — for most lesson packages. Your instructor arrives in a dual-control training vehicle.
Where do West Seattle students take their driving test?
Most of our West Seattle students take both the DOL knowledge test and the skills test at our Burien testing location, about 15 minutes south via SR-509 — usually with far shorter wait times than regional DOL offices.

Absolutely — that's our specialty here. We build dedicated practice for hill starts on Admiral Way, lane discipline on the West Seattle Bridge, and merges onto SR-99 and I-5 once your instructor confirms you're ready.
